Biography Career goals of "The Black Queen" focus upon engaging community members who might not otherwise encounter the benefits of the performing arts by presenting a range of diverse, high-quality, professional programs to a diverse range of audiences. Heidi Baldt Matthews serves as the operations manager for the Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra (ELCO) founded in collaboration with her husband, David Matthews. The Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra is a grassroots collective of alt. classical musicians dedicated to presenting a diverse repertoire to a diverse audience and seeking to demolish preconceived notions about musical genres. Heidi completed a BA in Theatre and a degree in Business Management from Point Park University and is also an alumna of the Coro Women in Leadership program. She was the recipient of an Emerging Leaders Scholarship to attend the Americans for the Arts Half-Century Summit in June 2010. Additionally, Heidi was an inaugural steering council member for Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders where she served a term of two years. She is currently a graduate student in the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management at Robert Morris University. She has volunteered and worked as a freelance box office manager, house manager, stage manager and director for arts organizations in the Pittsburgh community including Prime Stage Theatre, Gemini Theatre, Pittsburgh New Works Festival and various incarnations of "Amish Burlesque".
